Welcome to the Board of Rectors Meeting 2026 at the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg.
The EU GREEN Alliance invites members of the nine partner universities to attend from 5th May 2026 to 7th May 2026. The Board of Rectors Meeting provides a platform for inter-university exchange and the strengthening of European cooperation in the field of sustainable higher education development. The aim is to develop innovative strategies that promote the transformation of academic institutions in terms of sustainability and responsibility. You can look forward to inspiring discussions and groundbreaking ideas on the future of higher education in Europe.
Main Topics
The Board of Rectors Meeting is an important part of the exchange between the partner universities and makes it possible to address a wide variety of topics. It also provides an opportunity for groups to engage in conversation who may not have otherwise had the chance to enter into discussion with each other. The Board of Rectors Meeting 2026 will focus on the following three main topics:
- Digital Infrastructure - Digitalisation and communication thanks to the new Agora platform.
- Future of the Alliance - Possibilities and Opportunities for the Alliance.
- Legal Entity - A discussion about the possible establishment of a Legal Entity for the Alliance.

On 5 May, 11:00 am, we will welcome four experts to the Panel Discussion with the topic: Advancing Higher Education - The Role of European University Alliances in Driving Digital Transformation and Innovating Future Teaching Paradigms. We are delighted by the participation of: Prof. Beatrix Busse, Prof. Stefan Lang, Meritxell Vinyas Clos and Stefan Weidner.
